About Us

		Dr. Stephan Olivier: Chief Executive Officer Dr. Stephan Olivier was appointed Chief Executive Officer of AfriSam in April 2010. He previously held Executive positions as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Marketing and Technical Services within the company. Stephan has also occupied various Management positions in AfriSam where he gained considerable experience in the business. He serves on various industry bodies and committees.

		Grant Neser: Commercial Executive Grant Neser is the Commercial Executive of AfriSam South Africa, a position he has held since May 2011. He was previously Chief Operating Officer for Aggregate and Readymix for a period of eight years. Neser has extensive experience in the Aggregate and Readymix Industry. He has held various positions within the company, including being appointed in 2000 as General Manager for Aggregate and Readymix KwaZulu-Natal and before that in 1998 as Regional Manager for Alpha Readymix Gauteng. Neser started his career with the company as Project Engineer for Readymix Gauteng in July 1997. He currently serves on the management committees of the Aggregate and Sand Producers’ Association of South Africa (ASPASA) and the South African Readymix Material Association (SARMA). He is a member of the Institute of Quarrying South Africa and also of the South African Institute of Civil Engineers. He holds an M.Eng. (Civil) from the University of Stellenbosch, a B.Com degree in Business Economics from the University of South Africa and is a registered Professional Engineer.

		Louise van der Bank: Chief Information Officer Louise van der Bank is the Chief Information Officer of AfriSam South Africa. Van der Bank previously held the position of Chief Information Officer at the South African Post Office. Her 24 years of experience in Information Management include being a Director for SAP Core Banking at Standard Bank as well as holding various positions within the Information Technology division at Iscor Ltd (now ArcelorMittal). She holds a degree in BSc Computer Science from Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education as well as a Higher Education for Development degree from the same institution. Van der Bank graduated from the executive programmes of Assessment Technologies International and Darden Business School, University of Virginia, USA, in 1997 and 2001, respectively.

		Leba Mashao: Human Resources Executive Leba Mashao was appointed as Human Resources Executive of AfriSam in February 2010. She has a broad base of HR experience, both in South Africa and abroad and has worked for private sector, government as well as public sector organisations. Leba holds a BA degree from the University of the North as well as management and organisational development qualifications from Wits University and Unisa respectively. She is also a qualified teacher.

		Duncan Matshoba: Chief Financial Officer Duncan Matshoba joined AfriSam as the Chief Financial Officer on 1 July 2009. Prior to joining AfriSam he held the positions of General Manager: Operations and Credit Risk at Nedbank, as well as Associate Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Chief Financial Officer for the Royal Bafokeng Resources Pty Ltd. He is a registered Chartered Accountant and holds a BCom and a BCompt Hons degree as well as a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA).

		Sharon Maleka: Corporate Affairs Executive Sharon Maleka was appointed as the Corporate Affairs Executive in July 2009. Sharon was previously the CEO of Bunker Hills, a non-executive director of Nokaneng Trading (Pty) Ltd. and Mediro Industrial Holdings and a trustee of Motheo wa Basadi Trust. She previously worked for Global Roofing Solutions as a Marketing Executive and held various positions with the South African Department of Trade and Industry, one of which was as a trade representative at the South African Consulate General in Hong Kong.

		Hannes Meyer: Chief Operating Officer - Cement Hannes Meyer was appointed Chief Operating Officer for Cement operations in May 2011. He was previously General Manager for AfriSam’s Ulco cement production operation near Kimberley, a position he has held for three years. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry and has held a number of senior positions in the area of cement production. Hannes is an executive member of the Northern Cape Mine Managers Association. He holds an MSc degree in Chemistry from the Potchefstroom University.

		Malose Chaba: Chief Operating Officer - Aggregate and Readymix Malose Chaba was appointed Chief Operating Officer for AfriSam’s Aggregate and Readymix operations in September 2011. Malose previously held the position of Executive Director at Murray & Roberts. Previous positions include, amongst others, Managing Director of Murray & Roberts Limited Board, Executive Chairman of the Group Engineering Contracting & Services Cluster of Companies, Chairman of the Group Engineering Cluster as well as Group Assurance Executive, responsible for Risk, Internal Audit, HSE, Technical and Project Performance. He holds a BSc (Electrical Engineering) degree from the University of Witwatersrand and a MSc (Computer Technology in Manufacture) degree from the University of Sussex, England.
