How to
This is your guide to mixing high-strength cement for a concrete suitable for your needs.
High Strength Concrete
For 30 MPa (nominal at 28 days) this concrete mix is suitable for suspended structural beams and slabs; precast items such as flagstones; and heavy-duty surfaces such as workshop floors.
Ratio 1 : 3 : 3
1 part AfriSam High Strength Cement + 3 parts coarse sand + 3 parts stone.
Quantities per m3 of Concrete
To make a mix for 1 cubic metre of high-strength concrete you will need 6,59 bags of AfriSam High Strength Cement + 0,64 cubic metres of coarse sand + 0,64 cubic metres stone.
We suggest adding an extra 10% for wastage.
Ultra High Strength Concrete
A tensile strength of 45 MPa is suitable for suspended structural beams and slabs, columns and water retaining structures.
Ratio 1 : 2.5 : 2.5
1 Part AfriSam All Purpose Cement + 2 ½ parts course sand and 2 ½ parts stone.
Quantities per m3 of Concrete
To make a mix for 1 cubic metre of Ultra High Strength Concrete you will need 7,7 bags of AfriSam All Purpose Cement + 0,63 cubic metres of course sand + 0,63 cubic metres of stone.
We suggest adding an extra 10% for wastage.
