The Vluit Project is an experimental new way of standardising communication for workers on labour sites using the human whistle – an audio library of researched and carefully created and collated ‘vluits’ available to learn and use on construction sites to communicate whilst working. This supplements the spoken word in an aim to create better communication on worksites, in a country where many labourers speak different languages; transcending language barriers through the simple of use of universally understandable sounds.
